What do I need to get started?
Not much! If you’re doing hand-building, you can use:
- Clay (Feeney’s White Raku or any mid-fire clay)
- A skewer (or needle tool)
- A rolling pin (or even a wine bottle)
- A rib tool (or old credit card)
- Moulding tools (sticks, pens, or just your fingers!)
If you want to try wheel throwing, you’ll need:
- A pottery wheel
- Clay (Clayworks LGH or any mid-fire clay)
- A soft sponge, trimming tools, wire tool (or fishing line), and a rib tool
Where do I get clay?
Locally: Buy directly from us at the studio or check out The Clay Shed in Kunda Park.
Online: Many suppliers offer home delivery—search for your nearest supplier.
How do I fire my pieces if I don’t have a kiln?
No worries! You can:
- Use a local studio or clay supplier’s kiln.
- Ask a pottery friend to fire your pieces.
