The Answers to your Questions!
Yes - our memberships are designed for people who already have some clay experience and feel comfortable working independently.
If you've completed one of our 4-Week Beginner Courses, you're ready to join.
New to pottery? We recommend starting with a course first. You'll learn the fundamentals, build confidence, and get the most out of your membership from day one.
✨ Finished a course with us? Join as a 12-month member within 7 days of your course ending and we'll refund 50% of your course fee.
Already have pottery experience from another studio? Get in touch - we'd love to chat and make sure our membership is the right fit for you.
That’s completely normal - many people feel this way before they start.
You don’t need to feel confident or “good enough” to join. Membership is simply about having the space to keep learning, practising, and growing at your own pace.
You’ll be surrounded by a supportive community, and help is available when you need it. Most members find those early nerves fade quickly once they settle into the studio.
You’re welcome here.
While membership is designed for independent making, you’re never on your own.
Our team is available during staffed hours if you need guidance, advice, or a quick check-in. We also have resources, systems and a members hotline (during work hours) to help you feel confident using the studio safely and comfortably.
If you ever get stuck, just ask — we’re here to support you.
Yes - and for many members, this becomes one of the best parts.
The studio is a shared creative space where you’ll naturally meet other makers. Some people come to work quietly on their own practice, others love to chat and connect - both are completely welcome.
Over time, many members build real friendships through shared making, workshops, and time in the studio. We encourage community by hosting free members only events bi-monthly so you can meet people, learn some skills and find more confidence.
Any time you like - 24/7, 365 days a year.
Whether it’s early morning, late at night, or a quiet afternoon, the studio is here whenever creativity strikes.
Your access starts from the day your membership begins, so you can get started straight away.
You’ll receive a studio handbook and virtual tour to help you settle in, and in-person tours may be available with a teacher depending on scheduling.
Aside from an entire studio at your fingertips 24 hours a day, 365 days a year*, membership includes full access to the equipment, including pottery wheels, slab rollers, extruders, and dedicated workspace.
You’ll also receive your own storage shelf* and access to our creative community, plus online learning through Pottery Skool with tutorials, workshops, and resources.
Members also enjoy discounted rates on classes, firing, clay, and special workshops.
Firing is available on-site as part of your membership. Staff manage your work once ready by taking it to the kilns, firing it safely and returning when ready.
We have an in studio system and our team will guide you through how to prepare your pieces and book firings correctly when you join.
We charge per kg at our members discounted rate and fire to bisque and midfire only:
Bisque (1st firing): $8p/kg
Midfire (2nd firing): $9.60p/kg
Memberships are designed as ongoing commitments, so we don’t usually offer casual pause options.
If you’re unsure about timing, we recommend choosing a plan that suits your current availability, or speaking to us before joining so we can help you decide what works best.
For 12 month memberships, we will commonly offer a once off pause/extension of upto 3 weeks, if you are heading away for an extended period of time.
We recommend using our studio clay, which is available at a discounted wholesale rate for members.
This ensures compatibility with our firing processes and helps you get consistent, reliable results.
If you’d like to explore glazing without your own collection, you’re welcome to book into our glazing classes using your member discount.
Both clay and glaze can also be purchased from our nearby supplier (10 minutes from the studio!) to experiment and develop your personal style.
As each maker’s needs vary, clay and glaze materials are not included in membership.
Membership is designed for independent use of the studio, so friends, family, and children aren’t able to attend with you during your studio time. Think of it like a gym membership - your access is just for you.
For our 6 and 12 month members, we do offer a Bring a Friend once a month option, where you can book a session for someone to join you in the studio and make alongside you.
All guest visits must be booked through our member system.
We do love animals, and friendly pets are welcome in the studio. They must remain with you at all times, not roam freely, and owners are responsible for any cleanup.
To keep the space safe, calm, and enjoyable for everyone, we aren’t able to accommodate animals with behavioural issues.
If you join as a 12-month member within 7 days of completing a 4 Week Beginner Course with us, we’ll refund 50% of your course fee back onto your membership.
For example:
- $499 course → $249.50 refunded
It’s our way of helping you continue your creative journey with momentum, support, and a full year of studio access.
