Did you know we offer public firing for pieces made outside of our studio?
As long as they meet our requirements, we are happy to fire your work for you in our kilns.
We bisque fire at 1000-1020 degrees
We glaze fire at 1220 degrees ONLY (Midfire)
We do not do earthenware low firing, or highfire.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
To ensure the safety of your work, others work, the kilns and equipment, please take a moment to carefully read through the following:
- All items must be clearly stamped with your makers mark.
Unmarked work will not be accepted - All work must be bone dry. Wet greenware will not be accepted
- We do not once fire. Your greenware must be free of glaze
- The base of your work and bottom 2-3mm must be free of glaze (underglaze is fine)
- Kiln cookies must be provided for any pieces using
amaco, mayco, jungle gems, runny OR homemade glazes. - You will be responsible for any damage to kilns/shelves due to glaze running.
- Pieces must be hollowed out.
We reserve to the right to reject work that we believe will not survive the kiln journey,
or potentially impact other items in the kiln. - Pieces must meet our firing requirements. We bisque fire to 1000-1020,
and ONLY midfire for glaze firings.
DAMAGE TO KILN - You are responsible for any damage your work causes to our kilns/shelves/other work.
- If a kiln shelf is damaged due to your work, you will be charged a grinding fee of upto $100.
- If a kiln shelf is damaged beyond repair, you will be charged a shelf replacement fee of upto $300.
- If your work damages coils, kiln brick or the interior of the kilns, you will
be required to pay for repair and replacement based on the severity of damage,
determined by our studio manager, and kiln technicians.
The Pottery Studio does not take responsibility for work that goes missing,
is damaged or doesn't make it through the firing successfully.
If damage occurs due to a kiln error or due to staff handling error, we will
not charge you for your firing, however we are not responsible for the
replacement cost of your work
***We charge based on size and kiln shelf allocation rather than weight.
We can give you an average price on delivery of work, however final price is calculated apon loading and unloading - additional cost for damages included.
OUR WAIT TIME DEPENDS ON OUR INTERNAL SCHEDULE: This is not a priority service.
The wait time can be between 2-6 weeks.
WE ACCEPT DROP OFFS ON Saturday and Sundays 10am-4pm.
Your items must come in a box, and adhere to our above
terms and conditions/requirements.
You will be asked to fill in a form when you drop the work off with your
personal details and all details of the clay/glaze used including
firing temps and brand.
