Wheel Throwing Course 2: Intermediate

Our 6-week courses run over 6 consecutive weeks, on the same day and time each week. This schedule is fixed - the course cannot be completed over a shorter or longer period.

Take your wheel throwing to the next level. Designed for potters who have completed a beginner wheel course (or have equivalent experience), this six-week intermediate course focuses on building confidence, exploring larger forms, and developing more advanced throwing techniques.

With hands-on guidance from our friendly instructors, you'll refine your core skills while learning how to tackle challenging forms and push the possibilities of the wheel.

You'll explore:

• Refining your throwing fundamentals and building consistency
• Throwing larger forms and working with bats
• Advanced forms including bottle necks and closed forms
• Off-the-hump throwing techniques
• Throwing plates and managing wider forms
• Finishing techniques and surface decoration

What's included:

• 6 hands-on sessions (2.5 hours each)
• Unlimited clay throughout the course
• Expert guidance and hands-on support
• Access to member-rate firing for your finished work

This course is about process, not product - refining your technique and pushing what you can do on the wheel, with unlimited clay to throw, rethrow, and experiment freely.
Bisque firing is included for upto 5 wheel throw items (upto 5kg). If you'd like to keep any of your other pieces, additional bisque firing is available at our discounted member rate of $8.90/kg bisque, compared with the public rate of $11/kg.
